It is certainly a bit disturbing, and the lyrics are explicit, but WOW!!! WHAT A SONG!!!
Let me repeat myself from an earlier blog, I am not a big Kanye fan and he is probably a jerk. However, his talent is impossible to ignore. His creativity, egotism and self deprecation are on full display. It takes true musical genius to not only make a song/video this good but also to recognize the talents of Nicki Minaj. Kanye allows Nicki Minaj to steal the spotlight in what Rolling Stone calls the "cameo of the year". And finally, his respect for his craft is evidenced by the length of the song. At over 5 minutes, the song will never garner significant commercial success. Although a shorter song could have been a bigger "hit", Kanye will not sacrifice the integrity and sheer artistic brilliance for the sake of airplay. Thank you Kanye for giving us this song, but a little compassion and humility will go a long way to repairing your image so lets try to be nice!!!
